I really enjoyed rediscovering The Great Gatsby, but also reading some unfamiliar American poetry and short stories and found the class meetings were always eye-opening. I must say it was a welcome change from some past lectures I attended as a young language student, which sounded more like ramblings on literature, drawing their inspiration from improvisation. The atmosphere was always positive and the classes were particularly well-structured. He soon cleared everybody’s doubts while providing us with excellent training. Although I love reading, I was honestly a little intimidated, at first, by the technological aspect of online sessions and by the fact that I had to interact with strangers using my rather rusty English – plus, whenever possible, saying something clever or appropriate!
